December 28, 1895 is considered the birthday of cinematography. That day in the capital of France on Boulevard des Capuchins in the “Grand Cafe” was organized the first movie screening. The first films were made in black and white and lasted less than a minute – there was no soundtrack. It was just one single frame, shot with a static camera. The Lumiere brothers were able to build a business on the creation of a network of cinemas. It was they who presented the franchise, and their partners began organizing film screenings.
The first film in the sci-fi genre, as well as a horror film, was made by the Frenchman Georges Méliès. “Close-up” came about thanks to the American David Griffith, he is called the founder of “Hollywood directing.”

The modern film industry captivates by its versatility, has a positive impact on society, which is:

The audience is maximally involved in the events on the screen and all thanks to the competent direction, an interesting script, and special effects.
Regular viewing of films allows you to learn a lot about the reality surrounding them, develop the ability to think creatively.
People increasingly go to the movies to gain life experience, to expand what they already have. They empathize with the characters, often copying their behavior.
Cinema also affects the fashion of the female body. In the fifties of the twentieth century, the style icon was considered Marilyn Monroe, and in the 2000’s almost all women wanted to imitate Angelina Jolie. For a long time, the cinema promoted fashion for skinny women, but gradually the situation began to change.
You can watch movies at home and in the theater. This kind of leisure brings relatives closer together, changes the perception of reality.
By movies you can study history, they bring to life the images of historical characters, transferring to other eras. Original stories capture the attention of viewers, complemented by vivid special effects.
Some people show a desire to be like the characters in films, and this does not always go to the benefit. The influence of the movie industry can be both positive and negative.
Some movies are dominated by sex scenes, while others, on the contrary, prioritize a deep story. Genre diversity is a huge plus, satisfying different tastes.

There are many cult films that are considered classics in the film industry. They are watched by viewers of all ages, doing so many times.
An example of this is Gladiator, which won the Academy Award for best film in 2001. This film is about the political situation of the Roman Empire and the life of gladiators. Although the plot is fictional, still captures the attention of the audience, gives a clear idea of the culture of the ancient Romans, makes you empathize with the characters.

The impact of the film industry on society and modern man cannot be denied. People eagerly go to the cinemas, follow the novelties, and wait for the sequels of their favorite pictures. Almost everyone has their own favorites among actors, directors, and screenwriters. Interesting movies brighten up evenings and weekends, and make you forget about your own problems. Cinematography can safely be called a social tool, it has a great future.
