Sometimes I find myself in such a mood that I want to watch something kind, funny and not forced, and sometimes it’s almost unreal to find such films, and even for general family viewing. Surprisingly, I just now started to discover wonderful German films and series, and let me tell you, they have a lot to watch. That’s why I wanted to create a list of good German movies that are easy, entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Leaving a pleasant aftertaste in the soul. Several of the films in this selection are based on true events, which makes watching them even more interesting.

This Devil’s Heart (Dieses bescheuerte Herz) 2017

Lenny is a rich boy who has done nothing but endless parties with his friends all his life. Living in the same town as him is 15-year-old David, who spends most of his time at home. David has a congenital heart defect and the doctors’ prognosis is not very comforting. Lennie’s father, tired of his son’s idleness and drunkenness, entrusts him to take care of David. Suddenly these two become irreplaceable for each other. Lennie helps the boy to get a taste for life and make his dreams come true, while David, in his turn, makes him feel responsible for his own life and the lives of those around him.

All the male protagonists are quite diverse, from the music producer and womanizer Jerome, to the lonely romantic Gunter, from the successful manager Niklas, to the real drama of one of the subway officials Roland.
