But as the saying goes: “An alien family is darkness to the soul”, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors, even in the most exemplary family can hide the most terrible secrets.
Perfect Strangers (Perfetti sconosciuti) 2016

Seven cronies, gathered over dinner, jokingly start a game of reading all texts out loud and answering calls on speakerphone. They have no idea what skeletons will come out of their closets and what amazing discoveries they have to make.
My opinion: Probably a lot of people will wonder why I started with this movie, but in my opinion, it is the most untypical, because it is neither a detective, nor a horror, and there is nothing fantastic in it, the actions are just revealed exactly by the dialogues of the heroes, which do not go anywhere outside of one apartment. That said, this one night shows who is who for whom, and true feelings for each other.
Gone Girl 2014

Everything was ready for the celebration of the five-year anniversary of married life, when suddenly inexplicably disappeared one of the hero of the occasion. What was left behind were signs of a struggle in the house, blood that had clearly been tried to erase – and a string of “clues” in a game called “treasure hunt”; the beautiful, intelligent and incredibly resourceful wife had arranged it every year for her adoring husband.
My Opinion: A very interesting detective that surprises the viewer as the plot unfolds and changes his view of the characters upside down. Those who were bad at the beginning become good at the end and vice versa. In general, the ending will clearly surprise and maybe even shock.
I’m Going to Search (Ready or Not) 2019

The young bride is now part of her newly minted husband’s family, a wealthy but eccentric family that honors centuries-old traditions. But who would have thought that getting to know her spouse’s parents would turn into a deadly game in which everyone is fighting for life and death.
My opinion: This thriller turned out just great, with good and not unrepeatable, in my opinion, black humor and amazing characters for the audience. It’s strange that when even people love each other they don’t talk about their family traditions and morals. The plot is interesting and just captivates the viewer, you look at some moments with humor in this horror movie.
The Girl on the Train 2016

Every day, the train takes Rachel past the charming cottage where the seemingly perfect couple lives. But one day the idyll is shattered-the beautiful stranger disappears without a trace. Rachel will be drawn into a very confusing story, because only she saw out of the window what was hidden from everyone else.
My opinion: What hooked me about this movie was that it revealed the little secrets of not just one particular family (that perfect couple from the cottage), but that the secrets of one family pulled the tangle of secrets in the other two as well (here I mean Tom’s new family and his broken marriage to Rachel). The film is depressing in places, but very intriguing.
Dark Legacy (Inheritance) 2020

Lauren, a girl from a wealthy family, is passionately pursuing a career as a district attorney when her father, a very young man in good shape, suddenly dies of a heart attack. That’s when it turns out that she’s the one he left a strange inheritance – a key to some bunker.
My Opinion: The unpredictable ending and the suspenseful atmosphere of the film are mesmerizing. But as the plot progresses, it does become clear who has been hiding what and from whom all his life.
Knives Out 2019

My Opinion: The film is a true detective, in which every member of the family is suspected and the real relationship between each other and everyone’s sins are revealed. And what people are willing to do for money and comfortable living conditions.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2005

John and Jane have not been married long, but they are already tired of being married. They think they know everything about each other. But there’s something each prefers to keep to themselves: they’re both assassins who travel the world in secret on dangerous missions.
